Monsignor John Hart at the Papal Mass as seen on Fox News
In April of 2008, Sacred Heart's own Monsignor John Hart was invited to attend Pope Benedict's Papal Mass given in the famous Yankee Stadium.
Monsignor Hart was among the few chosen to assist in the actual Mass and was spotted on Fox News distributing Communion. Over 57,000 faithful attended the Mass which was the first time since 1979.
The Pope's message included saying the Catholic Church must build upon its "solid foundations" and "impressive legacy" in America, "From a small flock...the church in America has been built up in fidelity to the twin commandment of love of God and love of neighbor."
