Athletics

Philosophy of Athletics:

The philosophy of athletics at Sacred Heart School is simply to offer a positive sports experience for students which emphasizes the development of athletic abilities, good sportmanship, team cooperation and unity. Students, parents, and volunteer coaches are the backbone of our athletic program. 

Volunteer Coaching:

Volunteer coaching is a great way for you to show your support, share your time, and share your knowledge of sport. Volunteer coaches are the mainstay of the program without which, many students would not be able to participate in sports at Sacred Heart School.

Coaches meetings are held before each sport session to discuss the expectations of the coach, athlete, and the parents.

Basketball

 

A large number of Sacred Heart's boys and girls are involved in this extra-curricular basketball program. Students are taught the fundamentals of basketball in addition to teamwork and sportsmanship. All students who attend practice will play in the games.  Games are played on Sunday afternoon during the winter session.  Practices are held outside of school hours. CYO Basketball Clinic

Sacred Heart CYO has hosted basketball clinics for those children not on a team. We use this clinic to introduce our newest players to the skills and drills that are used during the SHS CYO basketball season.
