Testing

A comprehensive standardized testing program is part of each year's curriculum. All children take the Standardized Reading Unit Tests as the various basic readers have been completed.

The results of all the above tests are recorded on the child's cumulative record card. These test results are utilized by the teachers in studying the individual child's capabilities, weaknesses in skills and progress from year to year.

All tests are maintained in the strictest secrecy by the school. Conferences with the parent will be arranged if needed.

In addition to the above program of standardized testing, teacher-made tests are administered at the end of each unit or work as well as short periodic quizzes. A mid-semester exam in given in January, and a final exam is given in June.

Testing is not an end itself - but, a means to be used in the successful education of our students.

Student Comments

"The library is definitely the thing I like most about Sacred Heart School.  It has many different books for all age levels.  It also has many different sieries.  Our librarians, Mrs. Ecke and Mrs. Samper are very nice and help us choose our books.  If we need help...Some of my favorite books came from our library at school..."
