Fourth Grade students prepare Valentines Day Cards for hospitalized veterans as a community service project.
Fourth grade students happily display the American flag that was presented to the class by Congressman Rodney Frelinghuysen when he visited the class on Tuesday, February 9th.
The American flag had been flown over the capitol building in Washington, D.C. earlier in February as a tribute to the fourth grade class for their Valentine’s Day Community Service Project. Mr. Frelinghuysen came to collect the 200 hand-made Valentine’s Day cards and goody bags that the fourth and eighth grade students had assembled together.
Congressman Frelinghuysen praised the class for their generous community spirit for assembling the cards which he planned to deliver to hospitalized veterans for Valentine’s Day. Faith and Julian, two fourth graders, hold up a sample of the cards which the students had designed while Natali and Jasmine hold the flag.
