SHS Graduates Make Honor Roll in High School

100% Say they were fully prepared for High School.

A survey was recently conducted of those students graduating from Sacred Heart School in June 2006. Of the 23 students in the class, we were able to contact 18, who attended 5 different high schools – both Public and Catholic.  The results were phenomenal; with 16 volunteering that they made the Honor Roll.  All of them said that it was an EASY transition to high school and said they were fully prepared.. Let’s have the students speak for themselves:

• Not challenged as much in high school compared to SHS.
• Totally prepared, wished they had taken more A/P or Honors courses.
• 8^th grade was much more demanding than 9^th grade.
• Never realized how good my study habits were.
• Because of the discipline at SHS, I am able to focus in classes that at times get rather noisy.
• I cannot believe how many of these kids do not do the assigned homework.
• Standards at SHS were very high.
• Because of the way we were taught to respect and treat our teachers at SHS, I easily earned the respect of my teachers – in fact my teacher said she could tell which kids went to Catholic school!
• We learned how to follow directions at SHS which really helps in high school.
• Not as much reading or writing in High School as we had with Mrs. Baio.
• Next year, many said that they would be taking more A/P or Honors courses.
